Overview
The EFI e-D5 is the first printhead developed in-house by EFI, introduced with the fifth generation of Cretaprint ceramic tile printers (M5, C5 and D5). It is built on the proven Seiko RC1536 industrial platform — 1536 nozzles across a 108.3 mm swath at 360 dpi native resolution — and optimised by EFI with a new nozzle geometry and a waveform tailored to Cretacolor ceramic inks. The result is a plug-and-play head that installs without alignment adjustments, prints more uniformly, resists clogging and sustains production speeds up to 60 m/min.

Which printers use the EFI e-D5 printhead?
The e-D5 is used exclusively in EFI Cretaprint fifth-generation ceramic tile printers: the M5, C5 and D5 (marketed in China as EFI 快达平). Earlier Cretaprint generations (C3, C4, M4, P4) used Seiko RC1536, Toshiba TEC CE4 and XAAR heads.
