SEIKO 508GS Series

Genuine Seiko 508GS printheads — the 508-nozzle all-rounder of the SII Printek greyscale range. 508 nozzles on a 141.1 µm (180 npi) pitch cover a 71.54 mm swathe at 180 dpi native (up to 1440 dpi effective), firing a 12 pL base drop with multi-drop greyscale up to 84 pL across 4 grey levels — 28 kHz in single-drop binary, 24 kHz and 18 kHz at two and three drops, and 14 kHz in four-level greyscale, with a peak discharge of 320 µL/sec per head.
Three ink-matched variants are stocked, and picking the right one matters as much as picking the right head: IRH2533U (green label) for solvent and oil-based inks, IRH2533U-1420 (blue label) for aqueous and water-based inks, and IRH2533U-2410 (black label) for UV-curable and solvent inks. The ink-path materials, seals and nozzle-plate treatment differ between them, so fitting a head to the wrong ink chemistry can permanently damage it. The 508GS is the classic head for wide-format solvent and eco-solvent printers, and a direct replacement for Infiniti / Challenger, CrystalJet, Icontek, Forni and Kerajet platforms. Its 12 pL base drop with greyscale up to 84 pL covers both fine detail and dense solid fills. The non-wetting nozzle plate, built-in damper and nozzle guard resist ink build-up, X/Y/Z datum points allow downward, horizontal and vertical mounting, an optional heater covers temperature-critical inks, and the body measures 121.0 × 28.2 × 123.6 mm at under 300 g.
